Bud, Not Buddy - Christopher Paul Curtis

Bud, Not Buddy is a surprising novel because you would think that he wouldn't find a family or even just a place to stay where the people treat him well. But even though he goes through a bunch of rough times he ends up being happy, and he also had some help along his way. So overall Bud has had a surprising journey.

The Circuit - Francisco Jiménez

When I read this book I realized that Francisco wanted me to know that families all over the world work very hard for a small amount of money for their families. I also think the author wanted me to know that if you are born broke you can still make something of yourself. When I started reading the book I realized that many immigrant families need to work for a little amount of money.

The character Francisco reminds me of me when he fights with his many siblings, like Francisco I also have many siblings. Rorra also reminds me of me because she did something to her sibling that made himher that she most likely regrets doing. Francisco’s father reminds me of my father, especially when he hurt his back and couldn’t work anymore. My father hurt his back also but he did work when he felt better.

I realized that I liked the book “The Circuit” when we finished reading the first chapter. I decided that I really liked this book when I started to make a connection with some of the characters, I also decided that I liked the book when he started describing how him and his family picked in the fields when they weren't in school and even on days when Francisco did go to school, after he went to scool he went to help his family in the fields.

The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton

The outsiders is about a 14 year old greaser that is named Ponyboy. Ponyboy is one of many greasers. Ponyboy has a pal named Johnny, and Johnny is a fantastic character. I really like how the author made up these characters. Ponyboy has two older brothers, one is named Sodapop which is 16 years of age, and their oldest brother Darrel usually called  "Darry" which is 20 years old. Darry has a harsh personality, but Sodapop is about the opposite.

Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade run away together after a situation with some family. While Ponyboy and Johnny were away they did some heroic things, including saving several kids in a burning church. There are many problems that happen in the novel "The Outsiders," such as Johnny putting his life at risk to rescue several children.

I have learned to try new things and I might become a better person than I was before. I have also learned that many people come out of there shells and do some very heroic things.

I would definitely recommend this book for several people to read, I would recommend this book because even though I don't really like reading, I loved this book. I think the author did a fantastic job on writing this novel. This novel has so many events that have act of heroism in many characters. Many of the characters have there up and downs with each other, but at the end of the day they all treat each other like family.
